Dear Parents and Carers,
The School's safeguarding team have been informed of potentially inappropriate content being shared online, by pupils registered at our School. Can I ask all parents who allow their children to access and use online messaging services/communication apps, to ensure they monitor their child's online use regularly. In particular, the School is concerned with possible WhatsApp groups being formed by pupils that are sharing inappropriate content.
I have attached a useful link below, regarding online safety use of WhatsApp. Do note that this app has a 14+ restricted age policy.
Although our School regularly covers online safety topics with our children, we will of course re-focus additional lessons on the above matters at hand. Most importantly, we will reinforce the importance of children understanding how they are able to report inappropriate users across social media platforms.
