Dear Parents/Carers,
As explained to you last week, the NEU are asking their members to give no notice to school leaders regarding the planned strikes tomorrow across the country. For this reason, the plan remains, we will not be able to confirm if all classes are open until 8.35am, via the School Jotter app, or in person to parents from arrival at school from 8.40am. I understand how frustrating this may be for you, however, this is the impact a no notice strike is intended to have on schools.
Without a notice of closure, we do expect children to be at school between 8.40am to 8.50am. For parents who are intending on using Shine Clubs in the morning, you will need to have arrangements in place to collect your child as soon as possible, if closure at 8.35am is announced.
If our NEU teachers do strike, we do not have enough qualified staff members who are able to cover all classes. In addition to this, staff who are not NEU members have a right to decline cover duties, in support of their NEU peers striking.
