Dear Year 5 Parents/Carers,
Tomorrow, Friday 21st April, Epping St John’s Church are hosting a climate change workshop for local Epping Forest schools. The event will be organised by the clergy team and led by students from Epping St John’s Secondary School. Our Year 5 class have been selected as a representative group from our school. The event will be 45 minutes, consisting of interactive activities to raise the importance of climate change.
In line with our Educational Visits policy, this is a 'local area' visit, so you do not need to consent to your child taking part in this visit. Of course, do contact the school if for some reason you do not want them to take part and they will stay at school for the visiting time. As this is an educational visit, we do hope all Year 5s will take part.
Weather permitting, Year 5 will be walking to the Church and back. The class will leave school at 9am and will be back to school by lunchtime. They will travel on footpaths and take a safe route through Stonards Hill park.
Do make sure that your child has their school uniform on, a rain jacket/coat, comfortable shoes to walk in, a named water bottle and a snack (P.E kits are not to be worn).
We apologise for the one day notice, this could not be helped due to the delay in our session confirmation time being given to the school.
