Non-uniform day... Jeans for Genes Day 20/09/2411 September 2024 (by admin) |
Dear Families,
Next Friday 20th September is Jeans for Genes Day. This is a non-uniform day where children can wear jeans for the day or something blue. If your child has P.E on the day, please make sure they are dressed appropriately to complete P.E. in their non-uniform outfit, with correct shoes being worn.
Below is the link to our Just Giving fundraiser page or alternatively you could donate £1 at the entrance door if preferred.
Here is a little information about the charity that you may want to share with your child. Next week, each class will complete a fun activity to learn about the cause and how the money raised supports the genetic conditions community.
Jeans for Genes Day is the annual fundraising campaign for the genetic conditions community that supports people affected by a genetic condition. The monies raised on Jeans for Genes Day provide grants for day-to-day support, equipment, respite and events which bring together affected children and their families.
Who we help
There are between 4,000 and 6,000 diagnosed genetic conditions. It is estimated that one in 25 children is affected by a genetic condition and therefore 30,000 babies and children are newly diagnosed every year.
We hope to see a lot of blue next Friday.
With kind regards,
Coopersale and Theydon Garnon C.E. Primary School
