Non-uniform from Monday until further notice21 March 2020 (by admin) |
Dear Parents/Carers,
To support our Key Workers who are forced to send their children to school and have no safe alternative to keep them at home, we have decided to allow pupils who attend school from Monday, to wear non-uniform. This should limit the stress of school clothing preparations, whilst also trying to balance home life, rest and their critical work. This policy should give a greater chance to any pupil who attends school, to have clean clothes for each day; another preventive measure to limit the spread of the coronavirus where there is a gathering (such as school).
Please ensure clothing and footwear is suitable for school activities, including daily art and P.E activities.
As a school staff we are very thankful to the many families that have reached out and thanked us for what we are doing. I can only thank you back in being so understanding, that keeping your children at home is by far the best preventative measure any of us can do at this point in the pandemic, in keeping our children safe from infection. As a school leadership, we have done our absolute best to limit the amount of children at school during this time of COVID-19. That might sound strange in normal times, but in our current time of crisis, our mission is to continue limiting the children that are on our school site, as the more children that come to school, the less chance we have of protecting our most vulnerable children - where school has been deemed the safest place for them to be, instead of at home. I personally will keep encouraging our critical workers to find alternative arrangements in keeping their children at home safely. It is quite shocking to think that for some critical workers, school is the only way for them to get to work and do what they must.
Many thanks for your continuing support.
